Nailsea & Tickenham FC 3-3 Shirehampton
Nailsea & Tickenham and rivals Shirehampton shared a point each on a hot Wednesday evening.
Shirehampton took the lead after 15 minutes after N&T couldn't clear the ball and it found Shire's striker who shot from outside the box into the top corner.
N&T tried to respond immediately and Matt Pilgrim came very close but his lob missed the bar by only inches.
A few minutes later and a great long from Chris Gale found Chris Gregory in the box and he prodded home the equaliser.
Both teams continued to attack and just after the half hour,
Shire came close after a lob from 25 yards out hit the post.
As half time approached Matt and Chris Gregory linked up well with Chris flicking a header over the top for Matt to run onto, but he made his run just a half second early and was flagged offside.
N&T counterattacked down the right wing and a perfectly timed through ball from Louis Keane sent James Seeley racing towards goal where he placed it into the bottom corner to give Nailsea a lead on the stroke of half time.
The second half started with an early counter from Shire who's striker slotted home and equalises immediately after the restart. With both teams searching for the goal to give them the advantage, good work from Josh Benjamin who cut inside and shot from 25 yards out was denied by a great save tipping it onto the bar. Josh continued to get past his men and provided a lovely cross over the top where Chris headed back across goal. Unfortunately Joe Berry just couldn't get enough on it to take the lead. The effect was felt just a few minutes later when Shire won the ball in midfield and scored to give them a 3-2 lead with only 15 minutes left.
From the restart Nailsea passed the ball round and found Josh on the wing who once again produced a great cross for Joe to head home the equaliser. Full time 3-3.
