Nailsea and Tickenham FC 2-2 Stockwood Wanderers

“We must get a cricket pitch” said the N&T manager Smith as they welcomed Stockwood Wanderers to Fryth Way. The game started well, within two minutes Joe Berry was put through on goal but his lob brushed the wrong side of the post. In a bizarre incident, the home support was left dumfounded when Berry was tripped off the ball and then kicked whilst on the ground, only to see the Stockwood player receive a yellow. Whilst still complaining, the home side conceded a headed goal and the game turned. Stockwooddominated possession and looked to have wrestled the game.

Half Time 1 – 0

With the Tea and ears still warm, N&T looked more purposeful. It only took 5 minutes to equalise. Chris Gale putting Berry through on goal. 1 – 1. Within ten minutes they found themselves 2 – 1 down again. This time following a defensive mix up. Ten minutes later a long ball by Mellor put Berry through for his second. From here on in it was one way traffic. Stockwood were unable to get out of their half. A series of corners were headed wide or at the keeper. Monutford coming close twice and Freeman heading to the keeper. A Gale free kick smashing off the Bar, but Stockwoodescaped with a point. Two points dropped.

Saturday we welcome Clutton to Fryth Way, 3pm ko
