Nailsea & Tickenham FC 6-2 Bridgewater Town FC Res

Nailsea & Tickenham continued to dominate possession in midfield and on the half hour mark they sent the ball into the box for Matt Pilgrim where he slotted home his second goal and doubled their advantage.

Bridgewater Reserves then started to try and hit back but sent the ball over the top where Jason Mellor was judged to have handled outside of the box, resulting in a free kick. The free kick found a man who wasn't marked at the far post to head home and reduce the deficit.

Twenty minutes into the second half and with Nailsea still pressing for more goals, Scott Pilgrim passed into Aaron Latta's path and Latta curled the ball into the top corner from 25 yards out with the keeper having no chance. 5-1.

Nailsea & Tickenham opened the season in style.

They started well and dominated possession early on which resulted in Matt Pilgrim running onto a through ball and racing past the defence to go one on one with the keeper and position the hosts in the lead.

They nearly doubled their lead with a free kick by Chris Gregory from 30 yards out but it was not to be and it cannoned off the bar.

Just before half time some quick passing between Louis Keane and James Seeley saw them into the final third where Seeley found Chris Gregory in the box to smash home Nailsea's third and give a well earned lead into half time.

It was more of the same in second half with Nailsea controlling the play. A great ball out from Jason Mellor onto the the wing found Louis Keane who took control before chipping it over their defence for Matt Pilgrim to complete his hat-trick and make it 4-1.

Bridgewater Reserves kept trying to attack but N&T defended well. In his own half, Josh Benjamin took the ball on theleft and sprinted down the wing taking on two players before crossing a great ball into the path of Chris Gregory to head home his second of the day and their winning 6th.

With 5 minutes left on the clock Bridgewater's striker broke free one on one and slotted home to get their second goal of the game.
